SOFTWARE PRODUCT VISION
VoltCAD Product Direction
A clearer connection between the engineering intent, the drawing, and the information that follows it into a machine project.
Electrical and control-panel design, built around real engineering workflows.
In developmentVOLTCAD / IN DEVELOPMENT
Engineering software shaped by equipment work.
VoltCAD is MCT Nexus’s developing electrical and control-panel CAD initiative. It grows from practical needs in machine design, component information, drawing reuse, and engineering handover. Product capabilities and release plans remain under development.
THE PROBLEM WE ARE WORKING ON
Engineering information should travel with the design.
Electrical engineers and panel builders often carry the same information through drawings, component lists, revisions, and procurement discussions. Re-entering it creates opportunities for inconsistencies. VoltCAD’s direction is to make those relationships easier to manage within an engineering-focused CAD workflow.
Design with context
Explore ways to organize components, connections, and design intent so a drawing carries more than its appearance.
Reuse useful engineering
Make established patterns, templates, and company practices easier to bring into the next project while keeping each application reviewable.
Connect downstream information
Develop a path from design information toward component records and material outputs, with engineering review built into the workflow.
WHO WE ARE DESIGNING FOR
Electrical teams, panel builders, and OEMs.
- Engineers developing machine electrical packages
- Panel builders coordinating drawings and component information
- OEM teams managing similar equipment designs and revisions
MCT Nexus’s prior engineering-software experience includes tools around CAD, parts selection, BOMs, and project information. That experience informs the product direction; it does not mean every capability is already implemented in VoltCAD.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before we get started.
Is VoltCAD ready for production use?
VoltCAD is in development. Contact MCT Nexus to discuss its current status and your workflow requirements; this page describes the direction rather than a released feature list.
Will AI make engineering decisions automatically?
AI-assisted engineering is part of the longer-term direction. The intended role is to assist work that engineers can inspect and review. Specific capabilities, limits, and validation remain to be defined.
What would make electrical CAD more useful to your team?
Tell us where drawing work, component information, revisions, or handover creates repeated effort.
