Design the electrical system as part of the machine.

MCT Nexus develops electrical systems for custom machines, manufacturing equipment and machine upgrades. The work connects the incoming supply, loads, control power, protective devices, panels and field wiring with the way the machine is intended to operate.

We establish the electrical requirements before selecting individual parts. That includes the supply conditions, connected loads, operating environment, customer requirements and interfaces to other equipment. The resulting package gives the build and commissioning teams a common reference instead of leaving important decisions to be resolved during wiring.

From incoming power to the field device

Power distribution and load definition

The design identifies machine loads, supply requirements and the circuits needed to serve them. Motor, heater and auxiliary loads are considered with their operating duty and equipment data. Protection and conductor selection are part of the engineering review, not assumptions copied from a previous machine.

Control power and I/O

Control-power requirements are coordinated with PLC hardware, sensors, relays, actuators and communications devices. The package defines the I/O assignment, circuit relationships and identification needed to trace a device from the field to the control program. Power-loss and restart behavior are considered with the sequence.

Motor and drive circuits

Starter and drive interfaces are developed around the motor, mechanism and required operating behavior. The drawings and software must agree on enable conditions, run commands, feedback and fault information. Supplier requirements guide the installation and connection of the selected equipment.

Industrial control panels

Panel engineering connects the schematic to an enclosure layout, component list and practical wiring arrangement. Build access, identification, serviceability and the operating environment are considered. Panel assembly and checkout can be included within the agreed design-and-build or build-to-print scope.

Field wiring and equipment interfaces

Cables, junction points, terminals and device tags need to reflect the actual machine arrangement. We define interfaces to supplier packages, operator stations and connected equipment so responsibility is clear at each boundary. Drawing updates record changes made during the build or installation.

Verification and documentation

Checkout is planned around the released electrical package and the machine requirements. Relevant results, corrections and configuration information are retained for handover. The final package should make it possible to identify a component, follow a circuit and locate the current software and equipment information.

A practical electrical project package

A new system typically starts with the equipment requirements, load information, control architecture and site inputs. Engineering then develops schematics, component selections, enclosure arrangements, device identification and the bill of materials. The release process aligns these deliverables with the mechanical and controls work.

For an existing machine, we first establish the available records and installed condition. The agreed scope distinguishes a focused correction from a wider redesign. Installation responsibilities, shutdown planning, testing and document updates are defined before changes are made to production equipment.

Define the project scope

Applicable electrical and machine requirements are established for each project and location. Any requested panel listing, third-party evaluation, inspection or certification is confirmed as a separate project requirement. MCT Nexus does not claim a UL 508A listing through this page. Facility service upgrades and other work outside the machine boundary require a clearly assigned scope and the appropriate qualified parties.
