PROJECT PLANNING RESOURCE
Project Inquiry Checklist
A practical guide to the information that helps MCT Nexus understand your equipment, scope, and schedule. Start with what you have; identify the items that still need engineering input.
FOR EVERY PROJECT
Start with the outcome and the constraints.
The result you need
Describe the production task, equipment problem, or engineering deliverable. State what should be different when the work is complete.
The operating context
Identify the site, available space, utilities, environment, relevant equipment, and the people responsible for technical decisions.
The delivery conditions
Share target dates, shutdown windows, required documentation, acceptance criteria, and any customer specifications.
BY PROJECT TYPE
Add the details relevant to your request.
New machine or automation cell
- Product or part details, variation, and representative samples
- Process steps, target production rate, and operator tasks
- Layout, utilities, adjacent equipment, and material flow
- Preferred controls platform and required acceptance tests
Electrical design or panel build
- Schematics, layout, BOM, and current drawing revision
- Supply voltage, loads, enclosure requirements, and quantities
- Materials supplied by your team and parts preferences
- Required checking, listing, inspection, and file formats
Programming or equipment integration
- PLC, HMI, robot, drive, and network information
- Source programs, software versions, and available access
- Sequence of operation and machine interface descriptions
- Scope of testing, startup support, and handover
Troubleshooting or retrofit
- Exact symptoms, alarm messages, and when they occur
- Recent changes and work already attempted
- Current drawings, backups, and component information
- Production impact, shutdown availability, and site resources
SHARING TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Know what is available before sending large files.
In the initial message, describe the documents you have and their revision or date. We can arrange the appropriate way to exchange drawings, programs, photographs, and specifications after reviewing the request. Identify files that are incomplete or may not match the current machine.
- Separate confirmed requirements from preferences and open questions
- State whether you need design, build, programming, site support, or a combination
- Identify who can approve technical changes and acceptance
- Call out any supplier dependencies or customer-supplied materials
Ready to start the conversation?
Send the project essentials and the information you already have. We can identify the remaining questions together.
