CONNECTED MACHINES

Equipment Integration

Coordinate separate machines, controls, and devices into a working production sequence. MCT Nexus defines the interfaces that let equipment exchange status, commands, and process information.

SERVICE SCOPE

Resolve the handoffs between pieces of equipment.

A machine can function correctly on its own and still struggle when connected to the next station. Integration work defines who controls each action, what ready and complete mean, how faults propagate, and how operators recover. We work through those decisions with equipment suppliers and the production team.

  • Machine-to-machine handshakes and sequence coordination
  • PLC, HMI, drive, robot, and instrumentation interfaces
  • Industrial network connections and agreed data exchange
  • Upstream/downstream interlocks, fault responses, and restart behavior

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

What the scope can include.

Clear interface ownership

Assign responsibility for signals, communication settings, program changes, and testing at every equipment boundary.

Coordinated operation

Define the conditions for transfer, processing, completion, and recovery across the connected system.

Visible system status

Bring the information operators need into an agreed control and diagnostic approach.

PROJECT APPROACH

From the first review to handover.

01 / Map the interfaces

Review equipment layouts, supplier information, control platforms, network needs, and the overall sequence.

02 / Agree and implement

Document signals and behavior, coordinate supplier changes, and develop the required controls interfaces.

03 / Test the handoffs

Verify normal production and agreed abnormal conditions, including blocked transfers, missing parts, and interrupted cycles.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before we get started.

Can existing machines from different suppliers be connected?

Often, but the available interfaces and access to controls must be reviewed first. The assessment identifies communication limits and any hardware or software changes needed.

What should equipment suppliers provide?

Current drawings, I/O or communication maps, manuals, sequence descriptions, and a technical contact help establish an interface plan.
